Multi-Use for Practice
In practice, midwives can use organic belly butter before prenatal palpation of fetal positioning. It’s a special touch we use to hydrate, and introduce something natural to use daily. Also, it can be used when a mother presents with taught dry skin. Additionally, this blend could even help a practitioner’s hands glide more smoothly across a belly. This is important during an external cephalic version (ECV), when a baby is in a breech position.
We feel this is a perfect way to introduce a healthy organic blend. One that is useful with pregnant bellies. If the introductory use on the belly is helpful, then a tube can be offered for home use. Equally important, this blend melts with ones body temperature. Some say this makes it a great choice for perineal massage before labor. Moreover, because it may help soften previous scar tissue, and possibly prevent further trauma to same area during birth.
What’s more, we have found our belly butter to be useful for newborns skin. It’s gentle enough, making it a go to when baby has dry skin. Again, oils in the belly butter can lock in moisture keeping skin supple. Also, its helpful to prevent cracking in skin creases. Finally, when applied during infant massage, it’s helpful for creating a more relaxed state.
