Natural Baby Bum Spray
Our spray is made for baby’s little bum with gentle and organic ingredients leaving your baby feeling fresh, and supple. This spray is great for those tough times when baby’s bum has a hard to clean surprise, where things have started to stick! Simply spray baby’s bottom when changing and wipe.
In addition, this spray blend can be used as a base to add to your own alternative wipes! Further, this can help prevent harsh wipes that dry baby’s skin, or add to your own homemade wipes. It comes in an 2oz. glass spray bottle that provides a gentle all-over spritz. In addition to your diaper care cream, this spray works with cloth diapers too. Lastly, the bottle size fits nicely into a diaper bag for on the go!
Made from a base carrier oil with a handcrafted blend of essential oils. Smells sweet like lavender from our organic lavender essential oil. Moreover, we list an example of a mild blend that’s gentle enough for everyday use, or a do it yourself (DIY) additional list and essential oils that’s meant for occasional rash care.
Benefits of Using a Spray
Using a spray rather than a cream offers you less clean up. No washing of your hands after changing your little one. A few spritz and all done! Also, when baby has a rash you can add choice essential oils to help with healing.
Furthermore, it’s rather easy as a DIY project to order a few essential oils, or other additional ingredients to have on hand. Next, make a choice what will be your base oil of your own bum spray. Research base oils, coconut oil is a one option as well as almond, jojoba, olive oil and more. You want an oil that will be mild enough, to not cause a skin reaction. Lighter oils tend to work best in a spray bottle.
Finally, gather your supplies to prepare your DIY own spray. All you will need is a 2 ounce or larger bottle with spray top. Also, a small stainless steel funnel to help fill and not make a oil mess. It’s rather simple, after filling 3/4 way leaving room for your essential oil blend. Once added you cap bottle, and tilt to mix. Now your spray is good to go!
Example of DIY Everyday Spray Blend
- Fractionated coconut oil as a base for your spray
- Lavender essential oil -10 drops to alleviate harsh odor
- Roman Chamomile essential oil -2 drops diluted in 2 ounce base
- Tea tree oil -using 2 drops diluted in 2 ounce base
Choice of Essential Oils:
- Lavender -is a good disinfectant for the skin, relieves irritation, improves blood circulation, promotes healing time.
- Roman Chamomile -helps to soothe irritated skin, redness inflammation & itching.
- Frankincense -contains anti-inflammatory properties, can help with pain, & has antioxidants that promote healing.
- Sandalwood -is a natural astringent, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, that can promote skin cell growth.
- Bergamot -is a potent anti-fungal that promotes healthy, clear skin.
- Myrrh -has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.
- Melaleuca -Tea tree is a good anti-fungal, & disinfectant.
When adding essential oils it’s important to remember all babies have delicate skin. Also, it’s safe to say no one will know which babies will react. So as a precaution, it’s best to not use oils before 3 months of age, tea tree oil after 6. Moreover, essential oil drops need to be diluted in a carrier oil. Less added drops is more! Finally, If concerned about a reaction you can do a skin test of one drop diluted oil waiting 24 hours for reaction.

Having a general book for self research on essential oils is a good idea, or call you care provider. Start with a good book for reference, such as: The Essential Life (Several Editions). This way you will know which essential oils to avoid, and which are considered safe for pregnancy and baby. That way you are careful to use oils after 3 months of age, with patch testing.
